In the early 2000s, pet grooming was a virtually unknown industry in Guyana. But as the saying goes, however, necessity is the mother of invention.
As a veterinary technician, Luana Pierre often had to take care of dogs in the clinic she ran with her husband. While taking care of these dogs, she noted that many of them were in dire need of grooming.
So Luana began to do some essential grooming on the dogs so that they could leave a little better than they came.
This activity is one that would, over the years develop into a passion for the dog care art form, resulting in the genesis of Pawsome Pets, Guyana’s premier dog grooming business.
Pawsome offers services such as grooming, bath and blowout, basic haircuts, and trimming.
Officially launching the business in 2016 following the completion of her studies in Agriculture, with a minor in animal science at the University of Guyana, Luanna knew that it was something she wanted to commit her time to.
